Online Payments
Tenants can pay their invoices online through the Tenant Portal using KNET or Tap payment gateways. This streamlines rent collection and provides tenants with a convenient payment experience.
Payment Flow
- The tenant logs in to the Tenant Portal at
my.aqarjia.com. - They navigate to their Invoices section.
- They select an unpaid invoice and click Pay Now.
- They choose a payment method:
- KNET -- Kuwait's national debit card network.
- Tap -- Credit/debit card payment via Tap gateway.
- They are redirected to the payment gateway to complete the transaction.
- Upon successful payment, they are redirected back to the portal with a confirmation.
What Happens After Payment
When a tenant completes an online payment:
- A payment record is automatically created in Aqarjia.
- The invoice status updates to Paid (or Partially Paid for partial payments).
- The tenant sees a payment confirmation in the portal.
- A receipt is generated and available for download.
- The property manager sees the payment reflected immediately in the system.
KNET Payments
KNET is the primary payment method for tenants in Kuwait:
- Supports all Kuwaiti bank debit cards.
- Transactions settle quickly (typically same-day).
- The standard KNET payment page is displayed for card entry.
Tap Payments
Tap provides an alternative for tenants who prefer credit card payments:
- Supports Visa, Mastercard, and other major card networks.
- Also supports Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Transactions process through Tap's secure payment page.
Partial Payments
Tenants can make partial payments on an invoice. The invoice status updates to Partially Paid and the remaining balance is displayed. The tenant can make additional payments until the invoice is fully settled.
Failed Payments
If a payment fails (insufficient funds, card declined, timeout):
- No payment record is created.
- The invoice status remains unchanged.
- The tenant is notified of the failure and can retry.
Online payment integration requires active KNET and/or Tap merchant accounts. Contact your Aqarjia administrator to configure payment gateway credentials.
Reconciliation
All online payments include the gateway transaction ID as the reference number, making it straightforward to reconcile with your payment processor's reports.
