Properties

Properties are the top-level entities in your Aqarjia portfolio. A property represents a building, compound, or land parcel that contains one or more units.

Creating a Property

  1. Navigate to Portfolio > Properties.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Fill in the required fields:
    • Name -- A descriptive name (e.g., "Salmiya Commercial Complex").
    • Property Type -- Select from your configured types.
    • Status -- Active, Under Construction, Inactive, etc.
  4. Add optional details:
    • Address -- Area, block, street, and building number.
    • Landlord -- The property owner. You can assign this later if the landlord record does not exist yet.
    • Description -- Any additional notes about the property.
  5. Click Save.

Property Types

Property types are configurable lookup values. Common examples include:

  • Residential Building
  • Commercial Building
  • Mixed-Use Complex
  • Villa / House
  • Land / Plot
  • Warehouse

You can manage property types in Settings > Property Type.

Viewing a Property

Click any property in the list to open its detail page. The detail page shows:

  • Overview -- Property information, landlord, and status.
  • Units -- All units within this property, with quick stats on occupancy.
  • Documents -- Attached files such as title deeds, permits, or photos.
  • Tags -- Custom tags for categorization and filtering.

Editing and Archiving

  • Click Edit on the property detail page to modify any field.
  • To archive a property, use the Archive action. This soft-deletes the record, preserving all historical data. Archived properties can be restored.

Archiving a property does not affect its units or active leases. Units remain accessible, and lease obligations continue as normal.

The properties list supports:

  • Search -- Filter by property name.
  • Pagination -- Navigate through large portfolios with page controls.
  • Status filter -- Show only active, inactive, or all properties.

Tips

  • Name properties consistently (e.g., include the area name) to make searching easier.
  • Assign landlords early so that financial reports correctly attribute income.
  • Use tags to group properties by portfolio, manager, or region.
