Contractors

Contractors are external service providers who perform maintenance and repair work on your properties. Aqarjia maintains a database of contractors that can be assigned to work orders.

Adding a Contractor

  1. Navigate to Operations > Contractors and click Create.
  2. Fill in the contractor details:
    • Name -- Company or individual name.
    • Specialization -- The type of work they perform (Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, General, etc.).
    • Phone -- Primary contact number.
    • Email -- Email address.
    • Address -- Business address.
    • License Number -- Trade or contractor license (if applicable).
  3. Click Save.

Specializations

Organize contractors by their area of expertise:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • HVAC / Air Conditioning
  • Painting and Finishing
  • Structural and Civil
  • Cleaning Services
  • Pest Control
  • Elevator Maintenance
  • General Maintenance

Viewing a Contractor

The contractor detail page shows:

  • Contact Information -- Phone, email, address.
  • Specialization -- Areas of expertise.
  • Work Orders -- All work orders assigned to this contractor.
  • Performance -- Completion rates, average costs, and history.

Assigning to Work Orders

When creating a work order, select a contractor from the dropdown. The list can be filtered by specialization to find the right provider for the job.

Managing Contractors

  • Edit -- Update contact information or specialization.
  • Archive -- Remove inactive contractors from the active list. Archived contractors and their work order history are preserved.

Maintain an up-to-date contractor database. Having multiple contractors per specialization ensures you have alternatives when your primary provider is unavailable.

Tips

  • Record license numbers and expiration dates for compliance tracking.
  • Review contractor performance periodically using work order history.
  • Keep at least two contractors per critical specialization (plumbing, electrical) for emergency coverage.
